At Country Lane Early Learning, we value and celebrate the diversity of languages, cultures, and family backgrounds within our program. We are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment where children who are learning English feel safe, respected, and encouraged as they grow and learn.

Supporting English Learners

• We recognize that every child develops language skills at their own pace and in their own unique way.

• Children learning English are supported through positive interactions, visual supports, repetition, hands-on learning, and meaningful communication experiences.

• Our goal is to help children build confidence while supporting both English development and their home language.

Communication with Families

• Whenever possible, important information, forms, and communication may be provided in the family's home language.

• Families are encouraged to share important words, phrases, routines, and cultural traditions that may help support their child's comfort and communication.

• Translation tools, interpreter apps, and other communication supports may be used when needed to improve communication with families.

Enrollment & Individualized Support

• During enrollment, families may be asked to complete a home language survey or provide information regarding the child's primary language.

• Information gathered during enrollment helps caregivers better understand and support each child's communication and learning needs.

• Children are supported individually based on their developmental level, comfort, and communication abilities.

Respecting Home Language & Culture

• Country Lane Early Learning encourages families to continue speaking and maintaining their home language.

• Maintaining a child's home language supports family connection, emotional security, cultural identity, and overall language development.

• We strive to create a respectful environment where all languages and cultures are valued and appreciated.

Language-Rich Learning Environment

• Children are exposed to books, songs, conversations, labels, and activities that support language development and early literacy skills.

• Visual supports, gestures, repetition, and modeling are used to help children understand routines and classroom expectations.

• A supportive and engaging environment helps children feel confident while developing communication skills.
